This introductory course presents the basic smart card technologies and explains the relevant standards.

JCOP (JavaCard OpenPlaform)

The JCOP course introduces the JCOP platform. The JCOP family of products is an excellent example of a modern operating system based on the JavaCard technology with OpenPlatform/GlobalPlatform extensions. The JCOP family runs on the Philips P8WE and P8RF families of smart card microcontroller with traditional contact or dual-interface communication. The family covers different memory sizes and an optional cryptographic accellerator for RSA, DSA.

Mifare DESFire

Mifare DESFire: the next generation Mifare card, based on multi-application file system, standard 3DES cryptography and supporting faster communication and faster EEPROM - an ideal low-cost platform for advanced RFID applications not requiring full featured operating systems.
